Ask a question about this product

The Australian Fan Palm is one of our most beautiful and majestic palm. It grows in pockets of rainforest in North Queensland, from just north of Townsville to Cape York. It has great circular fan leaves with jagged edges and needs to grow in shade; the deeper the shade the healthier the plant. It is an emergent palm so adults can be sun hardy.

The Australian Fan Palm grows to 15m tall with a single trunk and leaves up to 2m across. Licuala ramsayi is the most cold tolerant of the Licualas, but definitely not frost tolerant. It is spectacular when in fruit, it bears masses of seed berries that stand out amongst the green foliage.

Best grown in shade and moist soil. It benefits from regular mulching, and fertilizing. The Fan Palm grows extremely well in containers, water regularly during spring and summer, and provide a fertiliser rich in nitrogen.

Common names: Australian Fan Palm

Size: small plants, 10-15cm tall.

Many thanks for the plants I ordered and your generosity. They arrived in Old Bar in great condition and are enjoying their new surroundings! Thanks also for the refund. Honest businesses are sometimes hard to find but you get my vote!! Kind regards, David
